Bringing Our Gods Home - Real incidents written by Indian Indiana Jones!

The Idol Thief, book written by S.Vijay Kumar Sir, is worth-reading.

It treads through the quirky, lurky and treacherous paths in smuggling Indian Idols, thereby throwing light on those behind the crime.

I feel sad and sorry for our people.
We Indians are not aware of the significance of our Ancient Culture and Heritage. But the West is keener about our past and its importance. They conquered us not only to plunder our resources but also for our valuable, age-old Art, which in turn leads to our Faith!

I am happy to read that some of The Gods returned to their Abode. And got furious to know many are still locked up somewhere around the world, at some museums, galleries or even private zones of bigshots!

There is a saying in Thamizh, சிவன் சொத்து குல நாசம்! (Taking Lord Shiva’s possessions will ruin not only us but also our future generations!)
And I feel it’s proved in this nefarious crime!

Yes, The posh-looking, well-groomed, mastermind behind all these unlawful act is now breathing dark, behind bars! Even his partners in-crime!

We Indians, especially Thamizhs should thank Vijay Kumar sir and the team, who made it possible… To Bring Back Our Gods Home!

Happy thing is foreign officials were so concerned about our Art and valued it so much, that they took all the risks behind this case. And what about our own…? Our Indian officials… This book also shows their lethargic nature, like a cliché!

For me, the most loved and unforgettable pages in this book are The Prologue and The Author’s Note. It went into me like a பசுமரத்தாணி! (A Thamizh word used to describe that any content goes deep and sharp inside us, that we can never ever forget it!)
Vijay Sir, the story which you narrated in Your Prologue and the detailing, were so real that I felt heavy-heart while finishing your Prologue! I literally lived a life though your story...

As of now, what we people can do is… Visit any of our age-old temples nearer to you, love the art and sculptures, melt in its beauty and have a thirst to read and research about those marvels, which is right in front of us!
Even if you are atheist, I am sure; no code restricts you to enjoy the beauty of a sculpted stone or metal!

We take a huge gasp at Leaning tower or Great wall! Nothing’s wrong! Appreciate it! But at the same time, don’t ignore our own precious Art, which is the identity or representation of none other than us! Yes, Us!

I was waiting long to get my copy. As expected, the book was so engaging and also awakening! I once again thank S.Vijay Kumar sir for this wonderful book and his significant work!

I wish to write more and more about the book. But I stop here... Have your own experience by buying your copy and take a walk along with Vijay Sir...

அகமகிழ்ந்து வாழ்த்துகிறேன்!

S.Vijay Kumar Sir
